CIMA Qualifications in Islamic Finance
Three years on from the launch of the original Certificate in Islamic finance (Cert IF) and a detailed review of the qualification, CIMA have re-structured their Islamic finance qualifications.
There are now three levels of qualifications to choose from:
- CIMA Certificates in Islamic Finance
- CIMA Diploma in Islamic Finance
- CIMA Advanced Diploma in Islamic Finance
CIMA Certificates in Islamic Finance
CIMA offer four separate certificates in Islamic finance, covering:
- Islamic Commercial Law
- Islamic Banking and Takaful
- Islamic Capital Markets and Instruments
- Accounting for Islamic Financial institutions
CIMA Diploma in Islamic Finance (CDIF)
If you complete all four certificates, you are eligible for the award of CIMA Diploma in Islamic Finance (CDIF).
CIMA Advanced Diploma in Islamic Finance (CADIF)
For those who have completed the Diploma in Islamic Finance (or the previously known Cert IF), CIMA offer the next tier in its Islamic finance qualifications—the advanced diploma. For those who feel they have extensive knowledge, students must sit and pass a Gateway exam/Direct Entry exam to be eligible to study the advanced diploma.
The CIMA Diploma in Islamic Finance is the first qualification offered by a professional chartered accounting body to focus on the fast growing sector of Islamic finance.

To book your assessment:
You can book your assessment online or by telephone (see links below). You will need your CIMA contact id number when booking an assessment. You should wait at least 24 hours after your registration with CIMA has been confirmed before booking your assessment.
Once you have received confirmation of your special arrangements from CIMA, you should then book your assessment by telephone.
Special Needs
CIMA welcomes entries from students with disabilities or special needs and is able to provide additional help or concessions, such as extra exam time, as appropriate to individual needs.
